THE CONFEDERATE CONSCRIPT
These are the standard conscription forces taken straight from the general population. They’re poorly trained and armed, but used in numbers to overwhelm. In the case of urban combat, they’re sent in large waves as an initial rush to clear the way.
HERRAD LEGION PYRONEER
The Herrad Legion Pyroneer is a powerful nemesis. Though their gas-fueld flamethrowers have limited range, their flames are intensely hot and can burn anything in their path. Their up-close combat ability makes them particularly useful in the close quarters of the city.
HERRAD LEGION BOMBARDIER
The Bombardiers are an elite cadre, trained to roam in small packs to hunt down and destroy. They’re equipped with accurate and powerful rocket launchers which use a warhead that penerates armor and eviscerates anybody standing nearby with shrapnel. These troops are an Atelian’s worst nightmare.
THE CONFEDERATE GRENADIER
The next step up from a conscripted soldier, these are the second most common forces in the Confederation. They are heavily armed and, in addition to their main weapon, have fragmentation grenades to flush out enemy forces.
THE CONFEDERATE OFFICER
This is the leader for the forces. He is armed with a heavy gun and is highly armored. The officer is essential to the troop’s morale and organization - taking out an officer can be devastating to a Confederate attack and should be a high priority.
CONFEDERATE FANATIC
In the largest prison in Nalum (Fahrong), thousands of prisoners on death row choose salvation by joining the religious sect of the Fahrong armed forces rather than being executed every year. These prisoners then serve on the frontlines as a fanatic infantry, serving mostly in suicide brigades.
For these ex-cons, the reason to fight can be varied, but all are equally dedicated. From financial rewards to their families from the church, to potential amnesty from Trinthinite priests, to heavy indoctrination, all Confederate Fanatics have powerful reasons for fighting and using their lives as a weapon.
They mostly use old, outdated pistols to fire upon the enemy at long range, and their large explosive suicide packs to blow up enemy buildings and important leaders. Aside from their everlasting dedication to their side and willingness to give their lives to the cause, these units are especially dangerous due to their agile movement and quick nature. Each Fanatic runs much faster than the average soldier, and can deal immense damage by triggering their bombs.
CONFEDERATE TEMPLAR
The templar is part of the Confederate religious order within the Fahrong armed forces. They are normally kept out of the conflict, acting as priests, unless the situation is bad and requires extreme measures to push through enemy defenses.
The Confederate Templar is equipped with a modified heavy machine gun turned to be able to be carried while firing, as well as a modified rocket-propelled grenade launcher mounted on top.
